One of Volkl's most popular models, the V1 Classic gets a heavier weight in the Volkl V1 EVO Tennis Racquet. One of the original tweener racquets, it has 102 square inch head, tapered beam, 10.8 ounce unstrung weight and head-light balance. Volkl's Big Grommets increase the size of the sweet spot for added power and control, even on off-center hits. While many tweener frames can be harsh and uncomfortable, Volkl built the V1 EVO with their Dual Dampening Grip. The technology places a rubber-like thermoplastic inside the racquet handle to create a dampened, plush feel, without removing the feel for the ball. While the original V1 Classic was only 10.1 ounces unstrung, the EVO is a good bit heavier at 10.8 ounces unstrung. The result is a more stable impact feel, which holds up better against bigger hitters. Intermediate and advanced players who want a more forgiving sweet spot, but with the stability to handle pace will love the V1 EVO.
